A Jude Self Portrait Dear Everyone,

Sorry about delay in writing again but I've been very busy in a few different areas, not least the children!
As you know already Elton finally gave me back my songs and my albums, he had been very busy and was not aware that I was trying to get them, but as soon as he found out he called me and said that he would of course be prepared to let me have them back. However, it took a while for all the legal paperwork to come through, as we had to wait for Rocket and Elton to sign official release papers.

We are going to put them out as soon as we have re-done the covers as Rocket could not find the original artwork!! Rocket had also wiped all the multi-tracks for Welcome to the Cruise, Sports Car and Phoenix so we could not re-mix them if we had wanted. We are going to do a different cover for I am the Phoenix and I'm not sure what we will do with the other two Rocket albums. We are trying to get at least one of these albums ready for christmas, hopefully Phoenix, but if we can't, then the release for all three will probably be January/February 2000, if they are done before this we'll let you know.

The Big Moon albums continue to do well with Under the Angels in it's third pressing and Over the Moon & Secret Agent in their second. Every day people find the web-site and say that they are amazed that I'm still writing and recording.

Our agency C.M.P. is putting a tour together for April/May and June 2000. As you know we are completely self financing and we will have to put the ticket prices up to £12.50, I'm sorry about this but everything is so much more expensive now and I don't ever want to turn up with two musicians and the rest on back-tracks. Last years tour was the best so far, thank-you all for coming, it's great to see the same faces... it helps!!

Thanks also to Huw Knight and Adrian Melia for their help organising the programmes and newsletter over and beyond the call of duty, and I wish I could be more help to them, not that they need it.

I have been writing songs with an assortment of people: Pete Cox, Pino Palladino, Lucie Silverman, Connor Reeves, Pete Gordeno, Richard Cardwell, Robert Hart, Oscar Pall, Brandon Fownes, Danny Cummings and of course Dave Goodes, and I think we've got some special stuff for the next album.

Peter Cox We have also been writing and producing tracks for Pete Cox's next album and when that is done we'll let you know, he really is a great singer and we will be doing a link to his site from ours when it's ready.

Lucie has finished her album for E.M.I./CHRYSALIS and the release date is set for February 2000, she will also be doing her own gigs and possibly a support tour, we'll keep you posted on that.

Pax has produced the latest Status Quo album Under The Influence and has been working in Big Moon studios on John Rhino Edwards solo album which also includes Charlie Morgan and Matt Letley on drums, and Paul, John Savannah and myself on backing vocals. It's an excellent album, and we will keep you posted on the release of that one too. He is also busy working with a couple of new bands, I only hope he has time to write for the next Tzuke album.

Lucie Silverman For any of you who are into dance/club albums Kirsty Hawkeshaw has two tracks on the BT album "Movement in still life" which you can get in all major record shops. She has done a cover of "We'll Go Dreaming" which is really good. It is already being played in clubs and Sasha the D.J. has apparently said he thinks it is the single for the millennium, who would have thought it?

The Lucid cover of "Stay with me 'till dawn" was played by Radio 1 up until it was released then was dropped from the playlist... doesn't make sense does it?

Oskar Pall Bob Harris is still the only person that plays my stuff on British radio apart from "Stay with me 'till dawn" which still gets played and put on compilation albums. I sometimes wonder if anything I do apart from this will get recognised. I don't know what I'd do if I did not have my own label and following.

Thanks for all your support. I do read all the emails and letters that come in and if you change your address or email try to remember to let us know as it is a much better way of us contacting you than by snail-mail.

Here's to the millennium and hopefully a safe and peaceful time for everyone,

P.S.We are starting the new album this week so we'll be working hard till the tour in April/May and June...
P.P.S. Hope you like the pictures on this page, they were all taken by me...including the shots of me!!
