A Letter From Judie, November 1998.
Hello again,
First and foremost I would like to thank-you for all the e-mails and
letters I have received over the past year since the release of my
live album ‘Over the Moon’, and to thank-you all for your patience in
waiting for this letter from me.
As many of you would know, my latest
album ‘Secret Agent’ was due to be released in September of this year,
to coincide with a tour. But, as some of you already know I became
very ill at the end of June with both bronchial pneumonia and
pleurisy. Therefore the tour had to be cancelled with the exception of
my 8 gigs at the Surf Club in Bermuda and my week’s residence at
Ronnie Scott’s, Birmingham. Although I had not yet recovered fully
from my illness and it being too late to cancel these gigs, judging by
the reception I received, all went well.
Orders for ‘Secret Agent’ can be placed now.
The album will be available from December. It will have 12 tracks with the title
track ‘Secret Agent’, ‘Fuel Injection’, ‘Tonight’, and ‘Mother’ being
the songs you may have already heard. It will have a slightly
different feel to it with David P. Goodes, Richard Cardwell, Peter
Gordeno and Paul in the production department, David P. Goodes on
Guitars, Andy Newmark, Paul Bevis and Gordon Mills on Drums, and Pino
Palladino, John Robert Wood and Peter Gordeno on Bass. We have a
quartet string section and also Danny Cummings on Percussion.
You can place your order(s) for ‘Secret Agent’, ‘Over the Moon’,
‘Under the Angels’ or ‘Wonderland’ as usual from the orders page on this site, or through Big Moon by phone,
e-mail, and snail mail. For all mailed (E & snail) credit card
orders, as well as card number and expiry date, card holders name and
address must be included. If you would like the album sent to someone
else we are happy to do this, just add the name and address of that
person to the bottom of your order, or include it on the order form.
All titles are £13.50 incl. P&P within the
UK and Ireland, and £15.50 incl. P & P outside the UK.
‘Over the Moon’ continues to get rave reviews for the content and for
the sound quality. The reason for this is that we used our digital
machines from the studio and the separation was so good, apart from a
few stray notes from the band, you can hear how faultlessly they
played. The suggestions we had from a few of you to put out an E.P. of
four songs was a great idea but it is still difficult financially, and
there is still a media wall we have to climb to get anything
played…apart from Bob Harris who always seems to fit me into his
crammed schedule…please e-mail him if you listen as he is someone who
genuinely loves to get e-mails, faxes or letters…he is on Radio Two at
night and also on GLR.
During the past 6 months I have been working with Jazzy B of ‘Soul to
Soul’ fame on a remix project. He has done ‘Parallel Lives’ and ‘Two
Mountains’ the latter of which you may have heard on the radio over
the past couple of months. Also Dave P. Goodes and Darrin Mooney have
done a version of ‘Stay With Me ‘Till Dawn’. Furthermore, on the 31st of October,
I performed at the World Travel Awards, which was held in
Nassau, Bahamas.
We are also updating our mailing list / database, which includes
naturally names and addresses, but also such things as e-mail
addresses and albums bought. To help us keep our records up to date,
if there is anything incorrect with your name, address, postcode, or
e-mail address, please let us
know, either by e-mailing
or phoning us.(contact details are below)
I am still trying to get my older albums back from
Rocket Records, so that we can make them available again on Big Moon. There is a big demand for these albums, and now that Rocket is once again owned by Elton, we hope to have some news on this soon.
We will be advertising ‘Secret Agent’ in the new year, so any
suggestions on how best we can make everyone aware of it then do let us
know.
Sorry this is such a long time coming but due to things beyond my
control it all took a bit longer than I thought, but still better late
than never hopefully!
