Dear Everyone,
I’ve always found it hard to write these newsletters, but this is the second one in six months, so maybe I’m finally getting the hang of it!
In that time, things have been very hectic. We did the tour in April, and I have also been working on the new album, which will be entitled either "Do You" or "Shooting Mirrors". We've now got about 26 songs to choose from! We were hoping to have finished it in time for The Other Half tour in October, but there has been a three month delay on the delivery of a key piece of studio equipment. That is a Mackie 24/96 hard disk recorder, and we’re holding off any recording until we have it here.
Rest assured that if we can finish the album by the end of September we will. In any case, we will be doing the new songs on the tour – and with the full band too.
We are arranging the tour ourselves this time and though it is a lot of work, we have managed to get all the areas that were missed last time, except East Anglia. We really have tried but there just aren’t any dates available.

Kirsty Hawkshaw |
There have been lots of new things going on, with interest coming from different parts of the music world. We’ve had calls from lots of dance based acts, mainly, I think, because of Kirsty Hawkshaw's cover of Dreaming and For You, and Lucid's Stay with me till Dawn. Some want to hear more of my own material and some want me to work with them on new material. It's very exciting, for example I'm currently working with Sasha on new stuff, and I’m also working with Way Out West on a song written by Imogen Heap. It's a bit of a first for me to sing someone else's song that wasn't an old favourite but I really love it and was happy to sing it my way.
Kirsty and I have been working together a lot and I think we will probably do something on either her new CD or mine. She wants me to sing at a festival in August called The Big Chill. I haven't decided whether to do it yet, but it will be on the website if I do.

Bailey |

Mia Silverman |

Annie Muggleton |
Bailey is coming on really well and is anxious to start recording soon. She will probably feature on an Impossible Beings track next. They are friends of ours, so that way she’ll be protected. They have just done a remix of the new Robbie Williams track.
A funny thing happened the other day - a CD came through the post with a rap track by an American guy called Camron. He's apparently well known in the U.S. and works with R Kelly , Wyclef and many others. He’s sampled the first eight bars of Southern Smiles from Welcome To The Cruise and written a rap all over it. So you could say I'm breaking into new areas all round!
All this keeps me busy and positive about the future and I'm looking forward to recording the new CD as soon as possible. It's all written, we just have to get the studio working and then it won’t take long.

Lucie Silvas
|
As some of you will know, Lucie Silvas, who sang with me in ’97, has launched her own career and will be releasing her 1st album any day now. She's doing great things and her single 'It's Too Late' went in the Top 75 a few weeks ago.
Her sister Mia, my friend and back up singer, is also doing well. She has been singing with Lucie and helping Gary Barlow, and she sang with me at the Milton Keynes festival last month.
My step daughter Annie Muggleton who also sang backing vocals with me has just achieved a 2-1 honours degree in performing arts and has been taken on as a model for a major modelling agency. So all in all we are doing well and enjoying ourselves.
Thanks for all your support, and I would especially like to thank everyone who came to the last tour. I really appreciate seeing familiar faces and look forward to seeing you all again.
